Garden Fencing and Gates in Inkberrow: Timber and Composite
Fencing in Inkberrow often has two jobs: keeping a garden private and keeping it in character. A cottage plot may suit a lower, softer boundary, while a larger family garden may need height, strength and a secure gate.

We supply and fit timber and composite fencing, hang gates and repair damaged fences. Posts, panels and gates are all set to suit the plot, whether it is narrow and enclosed or wide and open.
Choosing style and material
Timber panels are a familiar choice and can be stained to blend with hedges and planting. Composite panels cost more upfront but hold their colour and need very little care, which appeals to busy families. Cheaper panel types can work in a sheltered spot, but heavier closeboard or composite is a better match for an exposed side.
For a front boundary on an older property, picket or low closeboard styles often look more appropriate than tall solid panels. A fence next to a hedge or tree line may need to be cut around roots, and we plan post positions to suit.
- Closeboard, lap and picket timber fencing
- Composite panels with matching posts
- Side gates and garden gates in timber or metal
- Repairs to rotten posts and blown panels
- Concrete gravel boards to protect the base of timber panels
- Fence extension and trellis tops for extra privacy
Heights, ownership and neighbours
Fences are generally permitted up to 2 m at the back and sides and up to 1 m next to a highway or footpath, but listed buildings, conservation areas and some estates differ. Check with your local council if you are not sure.
Boundary ownership comes from your title deeds, so speak to neighbours before work begins. Our free site visit includes measuring up and advising on posts and fixings.
Gates deserve the same care as the fence. We hang them on strong posts, with latches and hinges that stay true for years.

Fencing in Inkberrow: common questions
Will you take down and remove my old fence?
Yes, we can remove the old panels and posts and dispose of them as part of the job. That includes digging out old concrete where it is in the way of new posts. Where a fence is shared, it is polite to let your neighbour know before we start.
Can a fence be made quieter and more private?
A solid closeboard fence gives good privacy, and adding a trellis top or planting can help further. Higher fences need to stay within the permitted limits unless planning permission is in place. A tall fence in a village location also needs to look right from the road.
