Fencing and Gates in Broadheath for Exposed Rural Plots
Boundaries matter more in the countryside, where they keep in pets and children and keep out wandering stock and wildlife. A Broadheath garden often has a long perimeter, open aspects and wind that finds every weak post, so a fence here has to be built to stand up rather than just to look neat.

We supply and fit timber and composite fencing, gates and repairs for homes in Broadheath, Lower Broadheath, Hallow, Martley and Rushwick. Posts, panels and gates are fitted by our own team.
Built for exposed boundaries
On exposed rural plots we use firm post fixings and suitable panels, and we can talk you through timber and composite options for lower upkeep. Timber is a familiar, cost-effective choice, and composite needs less treating over the years.
Gates deserve as much care as the fence. A drive entrance needs a sturdy gate on solid posts, hung so it swings freely and closes securely against livestock, pets or passing traffic. Gate posts take more strain than fence posts, so they are set deeper and braced.

Heights, boundaries and repairs
On a country plot the usual permitted-development limits are about two metres at the back and sides and one metre beside a highway or footpath, though listed buildings, conservation areas and some estates differ. Check with your local council, and talk to neighbours about who owns the boundary.
Repairs are often worth doing before a whole run fails. Leaning posts and loose panels can be replaced section by section, which is often quicker than renewing a long run in one go, and we are happy to look at what can be saved on a free site visit.

Fencing in Broadheath: common questions
Which is better on a windy site, timber or composite?
Both can work, provided the posts are set firmly and the panels are suited to the exposure. Composite needs little regular treating, while timber is easier on the budget and simple to repair. Panel style is worth thinking about, as solid panels catch the wind more than slatted ones.
Can you repair part of a fence rather than replace it all?
Often it can. If the posts are sound, damaged panels can be swapped. If the posts have rotted or leant over, replacing them is usually the better long-term fix. A fence is only as strong as the posts holding it.
