Norton Driveways: Block Paving, Resin and Repairs
Norton is a village on the outskirts of Worcester, where family homes, close developments and older properties sit side by side. That mix means very different driveways: a short parking apron on a close, a wide frontage on an older house, or a long approach to a detached home. Each has its own constraints, from narrow gaps between neighbours to bins, gates and a path that all share the same space.

We install and repair block paved and resin driveways in Norton, and cover Worcester, Kempsey, Powick and Drakes Broughton as well. One team handles the groundwork, drainage, laying and finishing, so nothing is passed between trades.
Replacing a tired block paved drive
Plenty of drives in a place like Norton were laid some time ago and now show their age: faded blocks, weeds in the joints, and dips where vehicles park. Cleaning and sealing helps with surface wear, but a dip usually means the base underneath has moved. Oil marks and moss are usually cosmetic and can be treated, but cracked or rocking blocks are a sign of something deeper going on beneath.
In that case the blocks are lifted, the sub-base is rebuilt and compacted, and the same blocks are often relaid, with new ones to fill any gaps.
- Lifting and relaying sunken areas properly
- Fresh sub-base and edge restraints where needed
- New block colours and patterns for a complete refresh
- Weed and moss prevention through good jointing
- Kerbs and edging that tidy the finished frontage
Resin, new drives and fitting a small frontage
On close developments the frontage may be only just big enough for two cars, so layout is everything. A resin surface gives a smooth, joint-free finish that is easy to sweep, while block paving allows patterns and borders that can lift a plain frontage. A well-drained base matters whichever surface is chosen, as standing water is what shortens the life of any drive.
Paving a large part of a front garden may need planning permission unless the surface is permeable or drains within the property, so check with your local council. Because Norton is close to our Worcester base, a free site visit is normally quick to arrange.

Driveways in Norton: common questions
Can I keep my existing blocks when the drive has sunk?
Often you can. The blocks are lifted and stacked, the base is rebuilt, and the blocks are relaid, with new ones added where some are broken or stained. If many blocks are damaged, we may suggest replacing the whole surface rather than patching.
Is resin suitable for a small close frontage?
It can be, as it is laid in one piece and follows any shape neatly. It does need a sound, well-drained base, which we check before agreeing the surface. Resin also comes in a range of colours, so it can be matched to the house.
